Forensics 2nd Six Weeks

Day 1 (10/02): Students will be able to discuss ethical standards of forensics science

Day 2 (10/04): Students will be able to list similarities and differences between criminalistics and forensics and describe the legal responsibilities of forensic professionals in and out of the court room

Day 3 (10/09)  and Day 4 (10/11) and Day 5 (10/15): Students will be able to list similarities and differences between criminalistics and forensics and explain the different duties of each forensic unit.  Students will use current case studies to discuss how the chain of custody is important to the court of law

Day 6 (10/17): Students will be able to recognize the function of evidence and how it is perceived in the courtroom according to the law

Day 8 (A - 10/19 and B - 10/22): Students will be able to show understanding of legal systems

Day 9 (10/23):  Students will be able to describe how to process, secure, and record the crime scene

Day 10 (10/25):  Students will be able to describe how to process, secure, and record a rough sketch the area of a crime scene 

Day 10 (10/29):  Students will be able to describe how to process, secure, and record a final sketch of a crime scene Students will be able to discuss how former crime scenes have been compromised

Day 11 (10/31):  Students will be able to discuss how former crime scenes have been compromised. Students will be able to explain the steps to be taken to thoroughly record the crime scene and describe proper techniques for packaging common types of physical evidence

Day 12 (11/02):  Students will be able to show proficiency in how a crime scene is secured, recorded, ad packaged

Day 13 (11/03): Students will be able to name the categories of substances found in glass and the raw materials for making glass and they will be able to name types of glass
